Light shapes how a home feels.

Residential lighting design

Great lighting doesn’t ask for attention. It brings attention to everything around it.

Design + supply

We design it, and supply what makes it happen

We don’t create a lighting concept and leave you to interpret it. The fittings are selected and specified as part of the design, and we can supply them so the finished result delivers on the original intent.

Our approach

We use light to bring your home to life

Light brings attention to everything around it: the materials, the colours, the architecture and the people who live there.

We design high-quality residential lighting that enhances the architecture and features of your home while creating atmosphere, depth and character. It’s about knowing where light should fall, what should be highlighted, what should recede, and how each space should feel.

How it works

From design to realisation

Before work starts on site, we meet your electrician and builder to walk through the plan, so the design is protected.

The healthy home

Better light makes a home better to live in

Make your home feel as good as it looks

Good lighting creates warmth, depth, intimacy and atmosphere, and brings materials, furniture and finishes to life.

Design around real life, not just rooms

A kitchen is bright and practical for cooking, then softer when everyone sits down. Lighting should follow those moments.

Help your home become a place to switch off

Lower, warmer evening light helps the home slow down as the active part of the day ends.

We think about the things you shouldn’t have to

Colour temperature, light levels, glare and the science of light and health are built into the design for you.

Testimonials

What our clients say

“One of the best decisions we made in our new build project was to reach out to Willie Duggans at a very early stage. The consultation provided by Monica and the team was invaluable and provided a roadmap that we could incorporate into the build process. Duggan’s expertise and passion gave us huge confidence and the results speak for themselves.”

Shane PowerKilkenny

“I had a consultation with Monica Duggan and am so glad I did. If I were to do another renovation I would definitely involve Monica from the beginning of the project. The lights she recommended were neater and better than the ones we originally had and we actually ended up using less lights.”

Helen O’FlynnDublin

“While completing a major renovation back in 2016 I visited many lighting shops without satisfaction. An architect friend tipped me off that I should visit Willie Duggan. I bought all my light fittings there in one day. In 2021 I was renovating again; this time I went directly and found all of my fittings again. What more can I say!”

Dara KernanDublin

“Very happy with the service provided, all members of the team were very helpful from the top-down, management, design, and stores. Would definitely recommend them to others who are unsure of ways to light specific areas without flooding the area with fittings.”

Roy GeeLaois

“One of the most engaging & informative workshops that I have attended in regards to residential design. Highly recommend.”

Emma BurkeMasterclass

“This was a really worthwhile workshop. I’d recommend it to anyone building their own home or wanting to think differently about how to use light in a space.”

Nicola GeretyMasterclass

“Plenty of food for thought. Can see the benefit of getting expert advice early in the project. The ‘less is more’ approach might actually result in savings.”
