Commercial lighting design
We don’t simply light buildings. We shape how they are seen and felt.
The studio
Experience it before we build it
Our Studio and darkroom bring the architect, engineer, contractor, client and wider team together to test light, fittings, dimming, details and scenarios before decisions are committed on site.
Design + supply
A lighting design practice and a supplier
We come into a project for an agreed design fee and take ownership of the lighting package, for one area or across the whole project.
The design fee stands on its own. Our job is to get the lighting right, not to maximise the amount of product. If a scheme needs fewer fittings, a different approach or a more cost-effective solution, that’s what we’ll recommend.
What we take on
Depending on the project, we take responsibility for
- Lighting design, layouts and lux calculations
- Fitting selection and specification across multiple manufacturers
- Bespoke and integrated architectural lighting details
- Emergency lighting coordination and BCAR requirements
- Budget guidance and value engineering without losing the design intent
- Coordination with the architect, interior designer and electrical team
- Site snagging, aiming and scene setting
- Testing and mock-ups in our studio and darkroom
How we work

Light + health
Workplace lighting designed around people
Because we understand how light affects the body through the day, we design how a workplace changes from morning to evening: colour temperature, light levels, controls and daylight together.
Worth coming back to
Warmer, more engaging offices where people want to spend time.
Sustainable performance
Alertness and visual comfort at the right times, not the same flat light all day.
A health-conscious workforce
Lighting that responds to screens, eye comfort, sleep and wellbeing.
Avoid the cost of getting it wrong
Specialist knowledge early avoids complaints and remedial work.
Selected work
Hotels, workplaces, heritage and public spaces
Our work has been recognised by the LIT Lighting Design Awards, including the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in 2025.

What does a commercial lighting designer do?
We design the lighting scheme for a commercial space, from layouts and lux calculations to fitting selection, integrated architectural details, emergency lighting coordination and scene setting, working with the architect, interior designer and electrical team so the finished space works as intended.
How is your commercial design fee structured?
We come into a project for an agreed design fee and take ownership of the lighting package, for one area or the whole project. The fee stands on its own: our job is to get the lighting right, not to maximise the amount of product.
Can you join a project that is already under way?
Yes. You don’t have to come to us at the very beginning. We can take the complete lighting journey or step in at whatever stage you need us.
Do you supply the fittings as well as design the scheme?
Yes. We are both independent lighting designers and specialist suppliers, working across leading international manufacturers. We can also supply and specify lighting where we didn’t complete the original design.
Can we see the lighting before it is installed?
Yes. Our studio and darkroom in Kilkenny bring the architect, engineer, contractor and client together to test light, fittings, dimming and details before decisions are committed on site.
Do you coordinate emergency lighting and BCAR requirements?
Yes. Emergency lighting coordination and BCAR requirements are part of the lighting package we can take responsibility for.
What kinds of commercial projects do you work on?
Hotels, workplaces, heritage buildings, retail and public spaces, including the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Carton House Estate, Block N Central Park, Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and the Liffey Valley Bus Connect Plaza.
